Health Management Library and Information Service
The Health Management Library is a free library and information service for all staff working within NHS Scotland. The Library holds Scotland’s most comprehensive and extensive collection of healthcare management information.

The Library specialises in the non-clinical aspects of healthcare and holds information and resources to support healthcare planning, policy, management and service improvement. The Library holds the latest literature on subjects including:

Our Services
Literature Search Service
The Health Management Library provides a expert literature search service.
All customised literature searches are carried out by experienced professional
librarians. The team uses the Library’s extensive database along
with a range of online databases and web research to carry out searches
of the published literature.
Loan and Document Delivery Service
A full loan, photocopying and downloading service is available throughout
Scotland. All items can be emailed or posted to you.
Ask a Librarian
If you have a question or reference enquiry, the Library team will be
happy to help and will endeavour to answer your enquiry using their expert
knowledge of retrieving information from a range of reference material
within the Library.
Training Support Materials
The Health Management Library has a collection of DVD- and video-based
training materials available for loan and which can be booked in advance.
These resources can support the delivery of training in areas such as
managing change, diversity, facilitation skills and project management.
Current Awareness Service
In order to help you keep up-to-date with fast moving healthcare issues,
all NHS Scotland staff can subscribe to the Library’s free monthly
current awareness bulletin. This bulletin provides details of recently
published articles, reports, policy and books and can be emailed to you
each month.
Training
The Library team provides specialist training in accessing and using online
management resources for groups and individuals.
