Manager Development Network

Manager Development Network

What happened to the Managers’ Development Network?

The Managers Development Network (MDN) was a joint venture between IHM Scotland and NHS Education for Scotland, designed to provide junior, middle and practice health and social care managers across the country with a range of opportunities to enhance their personal and professional development, network with and learn from colleagues, share good practice and build their CPD portfolios.
Last year saw growth in membership of the network, a successful programme of 80 events across the country and the establishment of electronic ‘blogs’.

IHM Scotland’s lead role in its establishment and day to day running was supported by NHS NES funding for 3 years ending on 31st March 2010.

However, in the face of widespread financial constraints, NES have identified a very much smaller budget. They say they wish to continue with a Network and to administer it themselves. IHM Scotland is therefore not currently engaged with NES in relation to the former MDN Network.
